Since a few days, a new X-ray machine is in use at MMH. The new X-ray is a digital model: it transmits images immediately to a central computer and from there to screens across the hospital where clinicians and nurses can view and compare with previous studies. The quality of the images is amazing and there is no longer a need for the use of expensive and harmful chemicals and film. Above all, the machine works on solar power. X-ray services will now always be available to patients – even during the many powercuts in Mulanje!
Many thanks to all those who supported this project: Camellia Plc, the English Reformed Church Amsterdam, Whiteabbey Church, the Medical Benevolence Foundation and Dr. J. and P. Creighton.
